Somatic psychotherapy works with both the body and the mind. Sometimes we understand something intellectually, but our body is still carrying the impact of what happened. Together, we listen to both. We pay attention to your thoughts, your story, your emotions, and the ways your experience may be living in your body. Often, healing begins when those pieces can finally have a conversation with one another.

Many people who find me have already done meaningful work in therapy.
They understand themselves well, yet something still feels unresolved.
My approach integrates somatic psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Body-Mind Centering®, movement, attachment work, and deep listening. Rather than focusing only on insight, we explore how your body carries experience and how healing can emerge through greater connection with yourself.

No. Some people imagine they'll be asked to dance or move extensively. That's rarely the caase.
Sometimes movement becomes part of the work because it helps someone access something words cannot. Other times we sit and talk. Sometimes we notice breath, posture, sensation, or impulse. We follow what feels supportive and appropriate for you.
You never need prior movement experience.

People come to me for many reasons including:
Trauma and complex trauma
Anxiety and overwhelm
Grief and loss
Life transitions
Chronic illness and medical challenges
Birth and perinatal experiences
Addiction recovery
Relationship and attachment struggles
Caregiver fatigue and burnout
Feeling disconnected from themselves
Often the common thread is this: something happened, and they no longer feel fully connected to who they are.
-
Yes. I work with couples who want to better understand themselves and one another. Many couples arrive feeling stuck in repetitive patterns, disconnected, or unable to access the closeness they once shared.
Using Intimacy From The Inside Out (IFIO) and somatic approaches, we work with the relationship itself as a living system, helping each partner understand the protective patterns that may be keeping them apart.

Therapy intensives are extended sessions that allow us to go deeper than is possible in a traditional weekly appointment.
Rather than working in 50-minute increments, we spend several hours - or several days - immersed in the work together. Many people find this format creates momentum and allows meaningful shifts to happen more quickly.
I offer intensives for individuals, couples, and families.on

EMBODY : THE ART OF TRUSTING YOURSELF
Is a Year Long Whole Body Recovery Immersion. Somatic healing and embodiment for women.
For women who have spent years caring for others, navigating loss, illness, trauma, or major life, transitions and are ready to stop abandoning themselves. Who want to reconnect with themselves through somatic healing, movement, reflection, community, and meaningful personal growth.
It is not traditional therapy, nor is it a self-help program. It is a guided journey of learning to trust yourself, understand your own story, and build a deeper relationship with your body and your life.

I offer in-person sessions in Portland, Oregon and virtual psychotherapy throughout Oregon and Texas.
Somatic movement therapy, coaching, consultations, and some educational programs are available more broadly depending on location and licensing requirements.

The best way to find out is to reach out.
You don't need to know exactly what you need or have the perfect words to describe what's happening. Simply tell me what is bringing you here.
If it feels like I can help, we'll talk about next steps together.
-
I'll personally read your message and respond.
From there, we'll determine whether individual therapy, couples work, an intensive, EMBODY, or another offering might be the best fit for your needs.
Sometimes the first step is simply a conversation.
You don't have to figure it all out before reaching out.

Intensives are especially beneficial for couples who value mutual support, are dedicated to personal and relational growth, and are committed to helping each other flourish—both individually and as a partnership. If you’re ready to explore deeper emotional and relational patterns and invest time and energy into meaningful change, an intensive could be an ideal fit for you.
-
Intensives are not recommended for couples experiencing physical violence, severe verbal abuse, or active, significant substance addictions. If you’re facing any of these challenges, there are other professional resources and steps that should be pursued before considering an intensive couples therapy format.
-
Each Intensive is $1,500 per day for a couple, with a $1,000 deposit required when you book. This deposit secures your dedicated time and space for focused relationship work.
-
Your first step is a free Zoom interview, followed by an application that you’ll receive as soon as your interview is scheduled. This process helps us get to know each other and ensure that an Intensive is the right fit for your needs.
